MIL OSI – Source: New Zealand Police – Police Ten 7 viewers asked to help solve Castlepoint indecent assault

Masterton detectives are hoping viewers of tonight’s Police Ten 7 television show have information to help solve an indecent assault on a young teenager holidaying at Castlepoint on Wairarapa’s coast.

Police say that at about 12.30am on Wednesday, 31 December, the female victim and her friend were walking along Jetty Road when a man in a 4WD called the two girls over to his car.

They declined and went to the property where they were camping.  Around 1.30am the girls were woken in their tent by the same man who allegedly indecently assaulted one of the young teens.

The victim fought the man off and he left, leaving both girls distressed by what had happened.

Police believe the man is in his 20s and had been holidaying at the popular beachside settlement.

The case features on Police Ten 7, 7.30pm on TV2 tonight.
