At 11.40am on Tuesday 7th April Inland Revenue’s call centre received a phone call from an individual threatening staff at the IRD offices in Wellington.

Police have worked closely with IRD to ensure the safety of their staff and premises.

Extra security has been put in place.

Wellington Police are actively making enquiries into the source of the threats and are following positive lines of enquiry.

Individuals need to be aware that these types of threats are taken seriously by the Police.
